How to Create an Organic Herb Foot Scrub

Foot scrubs are popular items when giving gifts to family members - they are the perfect accessory to any "beauty and bath" gift basket, and are wonderful in the winter months when are feet tend to be dry, and in need of some serious TLC. These foot scrubs can run you anywhere from ten, to seventy dollars [and sometimes even more!] and you end up paying for the brand name. Foot scrubs are simple as pie to make, and with a few ingredients you can create the exact scrub a high end brand sells, for a fraction of the cost

To make your own herb infused foot scrub, you'll need the following: Epsom salts, sea salt, and baking soda. These are the three crucial ingredients in making your scrub. If you are looking to make gifts for your family, consider purchasing these items in bulk, which can cut back costs. Essential oils of your choice may also be used when creating the scrub; some perfect scents are lavender, lemon, citrus scents, and peppermint. If you have cheesecloth, you can find herbs [dried lavender, basil, or thyme] to place in the clothe, and into your scrub. This will give it the invigorating aspect of the herbs, with the scent of your oils!

When making a scrub, you can be relaxed with how many ingredients you use. Some like their scrubs less harsh, and some prefer less scent...use your discretion! Mix your oils, and salts together until they create a "foot scrub" texture [if you've ever used one before, you'll know what we speak of!] add your essential oils, and you're good to go! When you are ready to use your soak you can place your cheesecloth filled with herbs in the warm bottle to infuse the water. To jazz up things up a bit, decorate a pretty mason jar [you can find them on Ebay in lots for a low price...] with ribbon, or mosaic tiles. Making a homemade organic herb foot scrub and giving it as a gift is much more personable than purchasing one!
